Nicholas Ouko Onyango fondly known as Nique Baraka is a Gospel singer, songwriter, philanthropist and producer. His unique blend of intimate worship and a great story teller through his songs, vocals, and his energetic style, leaves his audiences mesmerized both emotionally and spiritually.  His strengths are in vocals and as a band director. He welcomes partnerships with bands of diverse genres even though his musical style is linked to Afro Jazz and Afro fussion Music.

Nique Baraka’s love for music began 7 years ago and decided to pursue it under the tutelage of Jazz Maestro Joseph Hellon owner ,founder of Jether school of Music Nairobi and Hellen Mtawali  an African Music lecturer at Daystar University and lead vocalist of Afrizo band.

On His journey of music with Kenya’s greats, Nique has undergone enhancement of his Vocal range, Vocal techniques, Stage presences and management, Exposure, Diction, Posture and Presence. During this journey, he discovered his unique musical signature, Afro Jazz Fusion attributed to his Natural African vocals, {it is no wonder he loves zouk, kizomba, rhumba and afro jazz}. The result saw him take up music professionally 5 years ago.

Based in Nairobi, Kenya his musical achievements range from setting up a music production studio,-Baraka Studio, constitution of two bands namely Potters -a Rock Band and Meta Meta(shine shine) and Afro Fusion Band.

As an Afro Jazz fusionist , Nique released a five song album dubbed Maisha(Kiswahili word meaning Life) in 2010 and is currently in studio recording his second album soon to be released. Nique has hosted 5 musicals concerts namely; Maisha the worship concert, Mwamba an Afro Jazz journey and Maisha his album launch,Kitendawili litsening party. These concerts have featured music greats such as Dan Aceda fondly known as Chizi, Hellen Mtawali, Webi,  Mitchelle Ongaro,Mwatshy musenge(Uganda) and Zidi the Band . Along with the concerts Nique then launched of his church tours and has been leading worshippers in praise and worship. So far Nique has visited nine churches.

 As a professional musician Nique Baraka performs on various platforms and offers the following services;

• Concerts curtain raisers.

• Private evens( Weddings, Dinners, brunches, engagement parties , birthday parties)

 He recently added to his resume, a tour where he performed alongside award winning a Africa’s greatest musicians during his Tour  of Southern Africa and East Africa 2014 as a perfomer and  back ground vocalist.
